Marampak grower collective · Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi

Finesse Coffee (legal name Anugerah Bumi Semesta) was founded in 2017 and exports Indonesian arabica and robusta from the Marampak grower collective in Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi. The team works farmer-level, with selection, processing supervision and quality control led at origin by shareholder Sudarlan.

The people

Producers and partners.

Sudarlan spent thirty years in the field before helping build the business. He learned every micro-climate of the Toraja soil — when the mountain sun and volcanic ground push cherries to peak ripeness — and mastered Good Agricultural Practice by leading picking crews before dawn and hand-sorting to strip out unripe or defective cherries early. In 2021, the team opened their own processing and wet-mill house to take full control of production from cherry to green.
